Gerade für mich als Einsteiger in die Branche war dieses Buch ein guter Leitfaden und ein hervorragender Einblick in den Alltag eines Softwareentwicklers und in die Unterscheidung, was einen guten von einem schlechten Entwickler trennt. Natürlich handelt es sich bei dem Buch um die Ansichten einer bzw. durch die weitreichendne Kontakte des Autors und die daraus resultierenden Kontakte zu anderen führenden bzw. renomierten Entwicklern dann doch um die Ansichten mehrerer Personen und zu Manchen Themen könnte man auch andere Positionen beziehen aber alles in allem ein wirklcih sehr sehr gutes Buch mit unterschiedlichsten Denkanstößen. Ich kann es nur emofehlen!

I read this book over a course of four days and I immediately recommended it to the team I am supervising.

Erfrischend anders. Autor legt wie der Titel es erahnen lässt, den Schwerpunkt auf den Menschen. Ich würde es jedem Entwickler empfehlen, gerade auch am Anfang der Karriere.Unterhaltsam geschrieben, manchmal mit dem Hang zur Wiederholung und dem Schwelgen von der guten alten Zeit.Erhält von mir die volle Punktzahl.

Dieses Buch sollte jeder Software Entwickler gelesen haben. Robert C. Martin beleuchtet sehr gut die Verhaltensweisen in einem Entwickler Team. Nach der Lektüre versteht man besser, weshalb manche Teams eigentlich gar keine sind und was gut bzw. schädlich in der Zusammenarbeit ist. Besonders interessant werden die unterschiedlichen Sichtweisen der Kunden, Vorgesetzten und Entwickler bezüglich Aufwandsschätzungen diskutiert. Schätzungen sind immer an statistische Wahrscheinlichkeiten gebunden, aber Kunden und Vorgesetzte wollen eigentlich keine Schätzungen sondern Terminzusagen. Die Konfliktpotentiale und die daraus abzuleitenden Verhaltensweisen werden in Dialogen klar herausgearbeitet.Im weiteren befasst sich Robert C. Martin mit dem Test Driven Design Ansatz und stellt dar warum er diesen Ansatz favorisiert.Die Erfahrungen mit der IT seit den 70er Jahren ist an vielen Stellen des Buches zu erkennen. Interessant ist die Klarstellung, dass vieles heute noch genauso gilt wie seit dem Beginn des IT Zeitalters.Das Buch ist mit einer gewissen Spannung geschrieben und liest sich leichter als andere Bücher dieses Segments.

Light and fun read, filled with anecdotes from Martin's professional career. The parts about saying yes and saying no were quite interesting. By the end of the book got the feeling that he only needed to stretch the content to hit 200 pages.
